About the role:
As a Technical Writer at AppXite, reporting directly to the Application Support Manager, you will be responsible for producing high-quality documentation for all end users. Your work assignments will be based on the required knowledge and demand. Initially, you will specialize in specific parts of the product and its components, eventually becoming a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on the product. You will research and provide content on new functionalities and features, and become an expert on known issues and limitations reported by users or internal stakeholders. Experience with databases and APIs is preferred but not mandatory for this role. This position can be fully remote (long-term) via a B2B agreement, and we will provide the necessary equipment for work.
This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the development of high-quality documentation and e-learning content, ensuring that users and stakeholders have access to accurate and comprehensive information.
Your mission:
- Collaborate with product managers, product marketing, and engineers to produce and maintain world-class documentation, including User Guides, Integration Guides, and API Developer Guides.
- Develop technical documentation based on solutions provided by the L1/L2 support team to customers.
- Investigate product functionalities using existing knowledge, user stories, and acceptance criteria for upcoming functionalities.
- Coach internal stakeholders on the functionalities investigated.
- Create screen/video recordings of certain functionalities if videos are deemed beneficial for learning purposes.
- Contribute to the creation of internal e-learning content within the organization.
- Ensure that the quality of existing knowledge adheres to agreed standards.
- Propose improvements related to the quality processes of both internal and external knowledge.
- Act as an editor to ensure consistency in documentation across the organization.
- Address any ad-hoc requests as required by new projects and the role.
Required Qualifications:
- Experience in technical writing in the English language.
- Demonstrated ability to learn and comprehend complex subject matter.
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
- Proficiency in reading and executing SQL statements (optional).
- Proficiency in executing and understanding API calls in Postman (preferred).
- Experience working in an Agile environment (preferred).
- SaaS experience (preferred).
- Experience working cross-departmentally to communicate the nuts and bolts of a product.
Desirable Skills:
- English as native language.
- Experience using XML tools to create documentation.
- Background in the e-learning or educational sectors.
- Practical experience with AI in editing and creating instructional content.
